This autumn a project called “Gourmet Passi” has kept us occupied. During the project, we visited different restaurants in Helsinki. The following ones were our favorites thanks to delicious food, but moreover because of a great restaurants interior design!
In Gaijin we enjoyed North Asian delicacy. Interior design in this restaurant is best described as oriental and exotic. Casual lounge and wide dining area have a similar unique style. The long bar table works as a combining element for these spaces and accommodates easily a bigger group of people.
Southpark is located in Sinerbychoff Park. The restaurants’ menu is based on South Californian cuisine. High windows provide a beautiful view to the park. In this trendy interior deep blue velvet upholstery gives a unique touch. Meanwhile, back wall of the restaurant has another brilliant detail: a collection of graphical black and white paintings.
Undoubtedly, Apéro is the best French café-restaurant in Helsinki. The place is located in the intersection of Kalevankatu and Abrahaminkatu and restaurants interior design is sweet and casual. Even though, a combination of red walls and black pipes gives a bold and intense touch, the atmosphere is very welcoming.
Sandro in Kallio is already a classics of the Helsinki foodie scene. This Moroccan restaurant is casual and versatile, where, intendedly raw design functions well. Restaurants interior design is a combination of different styles, materials and graphics. Even the food is served in variable plates.
5. The Cock
You can find the Cock in the corner of Kasarmitori. The space of this restaurant includes a lounge bar area, wide and bright dining space and a playful terrace. In interior the rough industrial style is refreshed with colorful and fun details. By and large, everything in this restaurant, is a bit old and rusty – besides the food, of course!
